Itinerary

Day 1

Sacred Valley

You will be picked up from the Cusco Airport by our friendly guide, Alfredo, and yoga instructor, Carrie. As you arrive, you have the option of staying at the airport with one of us, or heading into Cusco with another one of our staff. When everyone is accounted for, we will make our way to eat our first meal together in the beautiful town of Cusco.

When our bellies are full with a nutritious meal, we will head to the Sacred Valley in our private vehicle and enjoy the breathtaking views, stopping along the way for photos.

Once we arrive at the hotel, you will enjoy some personal time to freshen up before our introductions, intention setting, and first group meditation. Expect a special surprise!

Dinner is our last family activity before crawling into bed for a well deserved night's sleep.

Day 2

Explore our Yoga Practice and the Sacred Valley

We will begin with an early morning meditation, education on the Four Purifications, and yoga class at the hotel. Following a delicious breakfast, we will head to the ancient town of Chinchero, where we will get to know how the women weave hand-created beautiful textiles out of Alpaca wool.

The Moray Archaeologic Site is our next place to explore and enjoy a refreshing yoga practice. Moray contains unusual Incan Ruins which allows for a temperature difference as much as 15 degrees Celsius from the top to the bottom.

Following a picnic lunch break, we will enjoy a peaceful hike to the Maras Salt Mines and get to know the unique way the salt has been collected since pre-Incan times. If you'd like, you have the option of purchasing Maras Salt as a special souvenir.

An awe-inspiring hike takes us back down to meet with our driver, who will then take us back to the hotel. You have the option of taking a Workshop on Yoga Anatomy and Alignment, or using this time to journal, meditate, or rest. Once again, dinner is our last group activity before settling in for the evening.

Day 3

Share Life With the Locals

We begin today with early meditation, yoga, and the 4 purifications. Following a healthy breakfast at the hotel, we will head to the important town of Ollantaytambo to explore the village and the Archaeological Site.  This Incan town dates from the late 15th century and has some of the oldest continuously occupied dwellings in South America.

Next, we will drive to one of the last living ancient Incan towns, Huilloq, to interact and spend time with the locals. The community is home to many farmers who also double as porters on the Inca Trail. These robust individuals often suffer from physical ailments due to the high intensity of their jobs. This village in the High Andes is filled with all kinds of inspiring souls, eager to interact with us as we share the beauty of yoga with them. In return, the locals will provide us with and partake in a savory community lunch filled with fresh, organic, and regional food.

After saying kawsaypac (Cheers to health, life, and honoring the Sacred land) to our new family, we will make our way back to the hotel to enjoy a specialized tea ceremony. You will then have time for yourself before dinner to journal, meditate, or reflect in the beautiful grounds of the hotel.

Following dinner, you have time to relax, pack and prepare for tomorrow's early departure to Machu Picchu

Day 4

Off to Machu Picchu

We will begin with the 4 Purifications, a powerful flow, and breakfast this morning to jumpstart the day before leaving for Ollantaytambo to catch the train to Aguas Calientes (town of Machu Picchu).  Our train ride is approximately 90 minutes in which you will have time to enjoy each other's company or journal. The views are spectacular surrounding the railroad are certainly worth writing about!

Upon arriving at our destination, we will send our larger bags to the hotel and make our way up the 30 minute bus ride to Machu Picchu. Prior to entering, we will enjoy lunch at the top of the mountain to fuel our very special afternoon.

A Shaman will guide us to a special area of Machu Picchu and will lead a ceremony to share intentions and blessings as we offer a gift to Pachamama. We will close out our afternoon with a light yoga practice in midst of spectacular panoramic scenery. There are less tourists visiting at this hour so we can enjoy time to be still.

After checking into the hotel, you will have personal time to relax before enjoying an early dinner to fuel us for tomorrow's adventurous hike up Wayna Picchu.

Day 5

Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu

In order to avoid the crowds, we will enjoy an early breakfast prior to taking the bus up to Machu Picchu. Our hike up Wayña Picchu (the beautiful mountain in the background that you see in the photo) begins upon arrival. The previous hikes, yoga, and pranayama we have learned and performed before today have well prepared you for this rigorous, yet rewarding, hike.

Once here, we will enjoy the beautiful views, and the opportunity to take photos. Once back down the mountain, we will continue the tour of Machu Picchu that we began yesterday. We will then have the opportunity to perform a slower yoga cool down to compliment the earlier hike once we are in the perfect location.

Depending on interest, we can choose to stay in these marvelous ruins, or make our way back into town for personal time at the hotel, or exploration of Aguas Calientes. Lunch will be included in this time.

We will end our day with a slow yin and flow, Yoga Nidra Meditation, pranayama, and dinner before heading back to our rooms to enjoy a deserving night’s rest.

After a restful night's sleep, we will begin the day early for the 4 Purifications on your own and then a guided light yoga class before heading to breakfast. In order to catch the train back to Ollantaytambo to meet up with our driver, we will leave the hotel early in the morning.

On our way to Pisac, we will enjoy the stunning views the area has to offer. We will once again meet with a Mountain Priest and enjoy a very special ceremony in this Incan Archaeological Site. After a delicious lunch, you have time to explore on your own. Pisac has a lovely farmers market in which you can purchase gifts and local goods to take home with you.

On our way to our final home of the journey, Cusco, we will be able to stop at Awanacancha to meet the alpacas and llamas, and maybe even get to feed them!

Upon checking into the hotel, you have free time to relax, or explore our new home before dinner and a good night's sleep.
